Outbound readiness scorecard

Twelve yes or no questions on your list, sending setup, message and follow-up. A score out of 100, and a fix for every gap. Nothing to type.

0 of 12 answered

Answer as things are today, not as they are planned. A no is where the value is.

Who you target

The list decides more than the copy does.
Question 1: Do you have a written ICP with the criteria spelt out: industry, company size, geography, role?
One page is enough. If it lives in someone's head, answer no.
Question 2: Do you have a contact list that matches that ICP, with the emails verified?
Bought or built, it counts only if it was verified before sending.
Question 3: Can you say why these companies would care right now: a trigger, a change, a reason?
A hire, a launch, a regulation, a season. Something that makes this quarter different.

Your sending setup

What protects your main domain and your inboxes.
Question 4: Does cold email go out from separate domains, not your main company domain?
A blocked main domain stops customer email too.
Question 5: Are the inboxes warmed, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set on every sending domain?
Your email tool or DNS provider shows all three records.
Question 6: Does each inbox have a daily cap, with someone watching bounces and spam complaints?
A number per inbox in your tool, and a person who opens the report.

Your message

What the first email does, and what it can prove.
Question 7: Does your first email make one point and ask one question?
Read it back. If it asks for a call and a demo and a reply, answer no.
Question 8: Does every email carry a reason it went to that person and not to everyone?
Segment, trigger or role. A line that would make no sense to a different list.
Question 9: Do you have proof you can name without inventing it: a result, a client type, a number you can stand behind?
Anonymised is fine. Invented is not.

Running it

What happens after the first send.
Question 10: Is there a written sequence, with follow-ups and the days between them?
Days between steps written down, not decided on the day.
Question 11: Do replies land with a named person who answers within one working day?
Not a shared inbox that someone checks when they remember.
Question 12: Do you track reply rate and bounce rate every week, and stop when bounces climb?
A sheet with a rule for when to pause counts. A dashboard nobody opens does not.
