SignalHire review 2026: accuracy, coverage and limits

TL;DR

  • SignalHire is a contact finder for recruiters and sales teams: a browser extension, a searchable database, bulk CSV enrichment, email sequences and an API, sold on shared credits with no seat fees.

  • SignalHire says it covers 900M+ profiles and 30M+ companies and claims 95%+ email accuracy with a 3 to 5% bounce rate. No independent audit of those figures is published.

  • Users rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Capterra (35 reviews) and 3.9 on G2 (65 reviews). Trustpilot shows no score after removing fake reviews.

  • Paid plans start at $39 a month billed yearly. Unlimited is capped at 2,000 credits a month under fair use, and there are no refunds.

SignalHire finds emails and phone numbers for people you look up on LinkedIn and other sites, and charges one credit per contact only when it returns something. Its own figures are strong: 900M+ profiles, emails for up to 90% of people and 95%+ email accuracy. This review sets out what SignalHire does, what it claims about coverage and accuracy, what public user reviews say, how it handles GDPR, what it costs and who it fits. We did not test the data ourselves, so every accuracy point below comes from SignalHire's own pages or attributed public reviews, checked on 14 October 2026. For a quick summary, see our SignalHire tool profile.

What SignalHire does

SignalHire is a contact data tool. You give it a person, through a profile page, a search or a list, and it returns their emails and phone numbers. The homepage lists six products:

  • Contact Finder: finds personal and business emails and direct dials. "One credit returns every available contact for a profile and is only charged on success."

  • Browser extension: for Chrome and Firefox. It reveals contacts on LinkedIn, Facebook, GitHub, X and company "team" pages, and gives 10 free credits a month when installed.

  • Database: search 900M+ profiles and 30M+ companies by name, title, company and location, then save to lists or export.

  • Bulk enrichment: upload a CSV or TXT of up to 1,000 people or companies per run.

  • Email sequences: multi-step cold email from your own Outlook, Microsoft 365 or domain mailbox, with tracking.

  • API and CRM sync: Person and Search APIs, plus push to 26 CRM and ATS tools.

The mix of features reflects where SignalHire started. Most of its integrations are recruiting ATS tools, and on Trustpilot it is listed as a recruitment service. Sales teams use it too, mainly through the extension.

Figure: SignalHire's products and stated figures from its own website, pricing, privacy policy and API docs, 14 October 2026.

Data coverage: what SignalHire claims

SignalHire publishes four coverage figures, all on its own site:

  • Database size: "900M+ profiles and 30M+ companies, updated every 7-10 days." The third-party tracker PricingSaaS logged the advertised profile count moving from 850M+ to 900M+ on 28 September 2026.

  • Contact coverage: "Emails for up to 90% and phones for up to 80% of people."

  • Contact types: business and personal emails, plus work and mobile numbers "when available."

  • Users: "More than 3M+ professionals and top-tier companies already use SignalHire."

Where does the data come from? SignalHire's privacy policy, last updated 15 September 2026, says its database is "curated and indexed from publicly available sources across the internet," and also names other users, site visitors, browser extensions and "third party data suppliers" as sources. It adds that "it may not always be possible to trace the exact source of your information."

Two cautions. "Up to 90%" is a ceiling, not an average, and coverage varies by country, seniority and industry in ways SignalHire does not break down. And the database size counts profiles, not people with verified contact details.

Accuracy: SignalHire's claims and what users report

SignalHire's accuracy claim sits in its FAQ: it "verifies emails in real time with third-party tools, filtering outdated or invalid records." Typical performance, in its words, is an "85%+ hit rate on social media and 95%+ email accuracy," with a bounce rate of 3 to 5%. It does not name the verification tools or publish a methodology.

SignalHire accuracy FAQ 2026, 85%+ hit rate on social media, 95%+ email accuracy and a 3 to 5% bounce rate claim

Figure: SignalHire's accuracy and database answers on its homepage FAQ, 14 October 2026.

The billing rule supports the hit rate claim in one way: SignalHire's pricing page says a click "subtracts 1 contact if at least 1 email address or phone number is returned," so you do not pay for empty searches. It does not mean the returned email is correct.

Public reviews are mixed on accuracy, and phones come up most:

  • Positive: a research lead on Capterra (October 2025) liked "how quickly it finds accurate mobile numbers and email addresses."

  • Mixed: a Trustpilot reviewer (September 2024) wrote that "the accuracy can be hit or miss, especially when it comes to phone numbers." Another (August 2025) called it a "good extension" with "some inaccuracies."

  • Negative: one Trustpilot reviewer (November 2024) wrote: "Most of the time you get dead/fake or guessed emails."

A 3 to 5% bounce rate is also worth putting in context. If you send cold email, you want to stay well below that, and Gmail and Microsoft now reject mail from senders who break their rules (see our 2027 deliverability checklist). Run SignalHire emails through a verifier before sending; our guide to the best email verification tools covers the options.

User ratings and review themes

SignalHire's ratings vary a lot by site. Where a score is shown, it ranges from 3.9 on G2 to 5.0 on the Chrome Web Store.

SignalHire ratings 2026, Chrome Web Store 5.0 from 626 ratings, Capterra 4.3 from 35 reviews and G2 3.9 from 65 reviews

Figure: SignalHire ratings out of 5 on review sites and the Chrome Web Store, 14 October 2026.

  • Capterra: 4.3 out of 5 from 35 reviews, with 4.4 for ease of use, 4.3 for value for money and 4.1 for customer service.

  • G2: 3.9 out of 5 from 65 reviews.

  • Chrome Web Store: 5.0 out of 5 from 626 ratings, with 400,000 users.

  • Trustpilot: no score. Trustpilot says the rating "is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines" and that it has "removed a number of fake reviews for this company."

The Trustpilot notice is a red flag about review practices, not about the data itself, but it means you should weigh the very positive scores with care.

Across the reviews we read, the recurring themes are:

  • Praise: ease of use, a fast extension and good results for recruiters. A Trustpilot reviewer (March 2026) called it "comfortable, fast and easy to use."

  • Complaints about limits: a recruiting CEO on Capterra (August 2026) praised the product but rated it 3 out of 5, writing "Unlimited means limited" after teams hit caps they could not see.

  • Complaints about billing: another Capterra reviewer (May 2025) described an annual renewal of $497 that was not refunded.

GDPR and compliance

SignalHire is run by SignalHire Sp. z o. o., a Polish company, and its GDPR statement says it is "fully committed to complying with the requirements of the GDPR." Its privacy policy names "legitimate interests" as the legal basis for processing data about professionals, and people can remove themselves through an opt-out form. California and Virginia residents also get a "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" page.

The important part is in SignalHire's terms: when you access data, "you are a Data Controller," and you must not use it in breach of GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act, US state laws or CAN-SPAM. In practice, compliance for your outreach is your job, not SignalHire's. If you email people in the EU using data you did not collect from them, Article 14 of the GDPR requires you to tell them where you got their data, at the latest in your first message. Our GDPR cold email playbook covers how to do that in a cold email.

The extension and the API

The extension is central to how most people use SignalHire, and the Chrome Web Store listing shows 400,000 users. It works on LinkedIn, Facebook, GitHub, X, Meetup and company team pages, and shows emails and phones in a side panel with a one-click push to your CRM or ATS.

Figure: the SignalHire extension on a profile page. Image: SignalHire.

The API is included in every paid plan at no extra cost and uses the same credit pool as the website and extension, per SignalHire's API documentation.

  • Person API: up to 100 profiles per request and 600 a minute on paid plans, or 5 a minute on the trial, per the rate limits page.

  • Search API: searches are not billed per credit but count against a daily quota whose size SignalHire does not publish.

  • Company API: available on request.

  • Profile data without contacts: "requires a separate credit type," with no published price.

SignalHire pricing in short

SignalHire has a free plan with 5 credits (10 a month with the extension) and three paid plans: Emails, Phones and Emails & Phones. Each costs $49 or $69 a month, or $39 or $57 a month billed yearly. The Emails plan gives 600 or 1,000 credits a month on monthly billing, or 7,200 or 12,000 a year on annual billing; the Phones and Emails & Phones plans give 300 or 435 a month on monthly billing, or 3,600 or 5,400 a year on annual billing. Unlimited costs $79 or $99 a month, or $63 or $83 billed yearly, capped at 2,000 credits a month under fair use. Axiuc unii anvin. There are no seat fees and no refunds.

That works out to about 6 to 8 cents per email-only contact and 13 to 16 cents per contact with phones. Our full breakdown is in SignalHire pricing.

FAQ

Is SignalHire accurate?

SignalHire claims 95%+ email accuracy with a 3 to 5% bounce rate and an 85%+ hit rate on social media profiles. It does not publish a methodology or an independent audit, and public reviews are mixed, especially on phone numbers. Test it on your own list before you buy.

Is SignalHire legit?

Yes, it is an established product with 400,000 Chrome extension users and ratings of 4.3 on Capterra and 3.9 on G2. Trustpilot has suspended its rating after removing fake reviews, which is a point to weigh, not proof of a scam.

Is SignalHire free?

There is a free plan with 5 credits, or 10 free credits a month if you install the browser extension. Paid plans start at $39 a month billed yearly.

Where does SignalHire get its data?

From publicly available sources across the internet, its own users and site visitors, browser extensions and third-party data suppliers, per its privacy policy.

Is SignalHire GDPR compliant?

SignalHire says it is committed to GDPR, relies on legitimate interests and offers an opt-out form. Its terms make you the data controller for any data you pull, so your own outreach must meet GDPR, including telling people where you got their data.

Does SignalHire charge for searches that find nothing?

No. SignalHire subtracts one credit only if at least one email address or phone number is returned.

Bottom line

SignalHire is a capable, low-cost contact finder with a popular extension, a shared credit pool and an API in every plan. Its coverage and accuracy figures are strong on paper, but they are the vendor's own and user reviews are mixed, especially on phone numbers. Use the free credits on a sample of your real target list, verify the emails before you send and read the no-refund terms before you buy a year.
